Dear friends, we invite you for an evening with an internationally acclaimed artist-photographer Viktoria Sorochinski, who will talk about her various photographic projects, including her series Anna & Eve that has been exhibited in multiple festivals, galleries and museums worldwide, and is currently on view at PANDA Theater. You will also have a chance to see and purchase one of the few remaining signed copies of her “Anna & Eve” book.
The second part of this evening is a SURPRISE PREMIERE in Berlin!
In addition to her artistic practice, Viktoria is also an author and a performer of her own folk/rock songs that she will perform together with a well-known musician and performer Vasili Voronov.
About the artist:
Viktoria Sorochinski is a Ukrainian-born Canadian artist currently working and living in Berlin-Germany. Sorochinski received her Masters of Fine Arts from New York University (NYU) in 2008. Over the past ten years, she has had over 60 exhibitions in 18 different countries all around the world. Sorochinski’s work is published and reviewed in over 70 international publications including her monograph “Anna & Eve” published by Peperoni Books. She is also a winner and finalist of numerous international awards, fellowships and grants, such as Arnold Newman Prize, Leica Oskar Barnack Award, Lucie Award and LensCulture Exposure Award among many others.
Sorochinski’s work is dwelling between documentary and fiction testing the boundaries of Real vs. Fantasy. In her photography, she is investigating subjects of intimacy, family dynamics, traditions, culture and mythology, often incorporating elements of narrative, performance and installation.
